HUM:Global establishes new partnership with The Global Biography Working Group, GloBio

NEW PARTNERSHIP

HUM:Global has formed a new partnership with GloBio, an online platform and forum for interdisciplinary scholars to present, discuss, and disseminate global biographies, particularly historical biographies from the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries.

The aim is to bring together an interdisciplinary group of scholars working with global biographies in various ways. GloBio holds online reading groups every academic year via Zoom, covering a wide range of topics including Biographies of the Cold War, Global Intellectual Biographies, Gender and Global Biography, Global Biographies of Migration, Race and Global Biography, and many more.

How GloBio works:

  • Anyone is welcome to join the reading group, whether you are an expert in a certain topic, or simply have interest in a particular subject matter
  • Once you sign up for a Zoom meeting, you will receive the relevant readings and a link to the meeting a few weeks in advance
  • Each Zoom meeting will start with a short introduction by an invited guest, followed by a group discussion
  • You can propose an event, topics for a future reading group, join the summer institute held every year, or try participating in a meeting that piques your interest

Visit GloBio to find out more about events and themes that GloBio explores.

If you would like to sign up for the reading group, you can reach out to Laura Almagor.

If you are interested in proposing an event, a topic, or joining the summer institute, feel free to contact Haakon A. Ikonomou.
