Opening HUM:Global Semester Lecture – A resounding success!
The HUM:Global Semester Lecture “Post-Imperial Possibilities: Eurasia, Eurafrica, Afroasia” by Dr. Jane Burbank and Dr. Frederick Cooper from New York University drew a diverse audience, including scholars, students, and the general public and filled the auditorium to the brim.
Dr. Burbank and Dr. Cooper delved into the post-imperial landscape, examining the interconnected histories and possibilities across Eurasia, Eurafrica, and Afroasia. Their thought-provoking insights sparked engaging conversations on global approaches and challenges, both during and after the lecture. In an era of globalization and poly-crisis, understanding the legacies of empires and envisioning post-imperial futures is crucial. These discussions empower us to shape a more equitable and interconnected world.
Thank you to everyone who participated and in particular Professor Stuart James Ward for facilitating the lecture. We look forward to continuing the journey of intellectual exploration and global engagement with you at our future events!
